Six Inches Deep

Brrrrrrr....I don't know about you, but it is cold here, like -10 without wind chill factoring into the problem ... I could tolerate some warm Puerto Rico weather right about know... I may have to post about my trip there, but that is another day!

While it was snowing yesterday, I got the brilliant idea to go out and get some pics of the snow falling. I grabbed my camera; layered on some hats, pants, shirts, gloves, and boots; and bravely faced the great out doors...okay, so just my neighborhood. I was able to get a lot of pics from the houses, here are some of them. I completely missed GBBD, so this is my make up.

This weather is very hard to take at first but I guess you kind of get use to it after a while. I was out snowblowing the other day and I was wrapped up like a mummy.

I like the swing picture the best.

Hi VioBoy, so far our lowest temp. as been about 0 degrees, in the mornings, although I haven't actually watched the weather on the news so don't know exactly. That's cold enough for me! Where are you located? I don't see it on your profile. My husband's family lives in Maine & where they are, it's been -35 or even more...that's really cold;)

Your photos are pretty. Isn't it neat how everyday things can look so intriguing with a simple click of the camera? Your photos are so clear...do you mind sharing what type of camera you have, and the lens' used?

You came by my blog a while back & mentioned something about an interview. I didn't get back w/you yet--been busy (!) plus, I'm a little embarrased about that idea, because I don't know where you got the idea that I am among the most known & reknown gardening blogs? I've only been blogging and posting on blotanical since Nov! I'm honored you would even think to add me to that category but you might want to think twice about it:) I am truly honored by your remarks and basically speechless...that's why I haven't gotten back with you. I like the fantastical sculptures that snow makes as it accumulates on objects. The branches always look so pretty with the dusting, or 6 inch layering.

Zack, those are lovely photos. That coat of white makes everything look fresh and new and clean. And cold too.

Tina:
I will def. have some nice warm pics up for my next post.

Dan:
I too love the pic of the swing, but for me, it is hard to choose a fav. I wish I had a snow blower, it would make life easy. I just payed 3 little girls to help me!

FJL:
My camera is a Nikon Coolpix S10. Very nice point and shoot camera also very nice for the close up shots. Nikon has stopped production of the S10. So you can get a great deal on them online.

TWHDreamer:
Me too, I can't wait for spring

Hey Zach, I'm in Ohio too, and I know how snowy and cold it has been. I've had it with winter already, and it's only mid January! How am I going to get through a whole winter of cold and snow? LOL

The snow really changes the look of the garden in winter. I was hoping for a little this winter, it's always hit & miss here. :)

Yes Zach, they still have the Orchid Forest going on. Go see it! That's really cool about the bulbs they dig out each spring. I'm thinking about becoming a member, so I can go whenever I want.

We are to get a foot tomorrow, someone just scared me and said it was upgraded to 18 inches. Ay, iy, iy.

Yeah, it snowed 12in with a level 2 warning. But it is nice. Everyone is at home and just enjoying each others company. Fortunately we have power, about 6000 people didn't have power when I woke up this morning. If you would, pray for them.
