Well my midterms are over!!! This is not a completely true statement, I actually have 5 midterms, 3 finals, an essay, and many, many, more quizzes. But on the bright side, my first 2 midterms are done and over with, so I can take a few seconds to breath and release the stress of school by looking into my garden of 2010!

I have been constanly thinking about my new garden for 2010. i am so excited, as I am sure you are. More excited about it. currently, than my new chickens. No I don't have the chickens yet but I know they are still mine!

I don't have the chickens yet, but I do have my memories of all the goodies that I grew last Spring, and boy are they tantalizing! Most of them I will be growing this year, some I won't. Not because I don't like them, but simply because I don't have any room! I expanded the garden more this year (I will post about that in the near future). It added a substantial amount of space, but definitely not enough! With gardening, enough just isn't enough! One of the veggies that will not be making an appearance this year, is Kohlrabi. While I really enjoy this vegetable, I know I will be able to always buy it at the Farmers' Markets. I sure, however, that next year it will be walking down the red carpet!

Last year, the Radishes that were grown at the house, did not turn out due to the ants eating them... I have no idea why our ants like them so, but if you have any suggestions, by all means post them below~ Though the ones at the farm, were beautiful, those radishes are the ones in the picture!

And will you look at the lettuce that we grew at the farm.... WOW, eye popping wow. Its was so green, tender, and crisp! mmmmmm

The Broccoli was really nice, and hardly any worms in it. I think it was because we got it planted so early, that the butterflies weren't out that soon.

I don't know about you, but here soon I will be starting my seeds... I am very excited about this. Last year, I started them in my room, but this year I will be starting them in the green house at the farm! They should turn out very nice, due to all the sunlight!

Hi Zach, Good luck on the rest of your tests. My teenager just completed his and actually did well in all except biology. Can't figure that one out.

Smart move to not grow things you can get at the farmers market. I too have been pairing down my wishlist for the new garden season. I'll be started seeds the end of Feb or beginning of March. Can't wait! Your goodies will be up and growing before you know it.

P.S. My yard is one acre or 43000 square feet. Not so big but big enough:)

Come and plant my garden. I'm dreading the garden season. I don't like to garden but I love the produce and that's why I have a garden.

I agree, kohlrabi is good but it takes up so much space. This year we want to try brussel sprouts.

My radishes were beautiful last summer. I don't know what I did right...usually they are fibery and tough. I probably won't grow them again this year though since I am the only one that eats them.

Tina:
Yeah, there is just so much new stuff in my garden, that I don't have the space to put them in. Maybe I can find a spot that will fit them in...You never know.

Karen,
I will come any old day for you! I too love the produce that a garden can yield, and after the farm, I simply must do more veggies. I can to the realization that when mixed properly, flowers and veggies make great companions. Who says that the flower and vegetable begs must be separate!

I really don't miss taking tests all the time. I have always been really good at memorizing things so I would ace tests and then in turn skip the major assignment. If I had about a 90% then skipped the essay for 10% I would still end up with a low A or high B. Not that I am recommending such actions... :-)

Good luck with all your seed starting. It would be great to be able to grow seedlings in a greenhouse!

I have a book called Carrots Love Roses and it talks about veggie and flower compatability.

Okay, Zach, I'm expecting you this spring. You know the boys would love to have you visit too.

Wow, you have some wonderful photos! And good luck with your exams!

Dan, your bad. Don't worry I wont be taking your advise. I like to get as high of a grade as I can.

Karen:
I think you are getting the two book titles confused. Carrots love tomatoes is one book, and garlic loves roses. Both books are rally nice. I love them.

Parsec:
Thanks and welcome to my blog! I am glad you like my pics. I am quite partial!

Zach,

Yeah you have some really nice shots...awesome! And I have actually been to and commented on your blog before, but I took a break from serious blogging for several months so I haven't been back in a while.

Hi Zach. I'm thinking about adding some veggies to my perennial gardens this spring. Want to see if that works out. Good luck with your midterms, quizzes, etc.

I'm ready to start my seeds too, just got one order in the mail and waiting for another. Hubby's going to build me some shelves with lights for my seed trays, so that will help a LOT! Can't wait. I'll be trying carrots for the first time this year. Our radishes came out fine, don't know why yours were eaten. I just couldn't resist posting about what was peeking out of the ground in winter, because it gives me hope!

I'm glad you did, post on what is in your garden. How exciting, your hubby is so sweet! Too bad he doesn't build me one! jk. Good luck with your carrots!

I like the post and above comments and agreed with them that vegetarian foods are the gift of God. As my experience vegetarian food is more best then medicine.
